Personal Description.

I am an Arabic and native English speaker with a passion for the Arabic-speaking world and its culture. A teacher and student of Arabic for many years and living in the Middle East (Syria) for four years as well as existing Arab contact’s has not only given me a good understanding of the different Arabic dialects but also deepened my understanding of Arabic societies, politics and religions. Arabic works on a totally different structure and logic to English which is what makes studying it such a rich and rewarding experience but not one without its challenges.

I enjoy Arabic and I am currently in the process of furthering my qualifications in this area of study. I am a strong believer in the saying 'seek knowledge from the cradle until the grave', so I am not the type to retire from studying so long as I can keep going. I am never bored because I have so much to do and even more to read.

Tutoring Experience.

My tutoring experience has included tuition from beginner to upper-intermediate level, offering individual and group sessions, and supporting language organisations both in the UK and abroad, since 2005. I am currently participating with other educational centres in London providing Language instruction to teenagers and adults, as well as holding regular online Skype sessions.

Students will usually be introduced to vocabulary, sentence use and conversation. Courses will also cover various areas of essential grammar such as the gender of nouns and the agreement of adjectives, use of the definite article, attached pronouns, conjunctions and prepositions, demonstrative pronouns, the different types of noun plurals, as well as the rules governing the cardinal numbers.

Tutoring Approach

As a tutor I am aware that every individual has their own learning style, along with their personal strengths and weaknesses. It is my job as a tutor to discover these aspects of a students learning and adjust or create material accordingly that will best help them to excel. I am also aware that variety is the spice of life and is often key to good learning, for this reason I always try and take a creative approach to lessons; using different methods of study to keep it fun and interesting and always challenging!
